The Great Flash Fiction Competition

Now, the first thing you might be asking is "what is flash fiction anyway?" Boy, it's a good thing I made this handy bullet list for just such a question!

Flash Fiction And What We Expect From You

• Any piece of fiction between 200 and 1000 words.
  
• Written around a specific theme, which we will supply.
  
• Should be focused and concise, but still enjoyable to read.
  
• Your entry must be submitted to us through PM, not posted here.
  
• All entries must adhere to the Forum Rules.
  
• Your entry must stay within that contest's word limit to be accepted.
  
• Once we have the set number of entries, judging will begin.
  

The Contest

This thread will be used for posting up the next theme and all the rules associate with that contest. Your entry must adhere to all of the things that the latest contest asks for, such as the word limit and the theme. Winners will be chosen based on who does this the best, by making great use of their limited word count to still deliver an enjoyable piece of writing that gives us a very good sense of the theme. Entries that stray off topic from the theme will have a much harder time winning than those entries that focus on it directly. Any entry that is not within the word limit will not be accepted, until it's been changed to fit. We will inform anyone of problems with their entry, through PM.

When the contest has reached it's necessary amount of entries to proceed, we will begin the judging period. This may take anywhere from a week to a month. After that's finished, we'll post all the entries in this thread and mark out the winners of each contest. The winners will then be given a badge and also placed into the Winner's Circle group for a while, so they can have nice pretty names and everybody will know how awesome they are. Depending on the contest, there may also be other prizes at stake, so definitely stay tuned for those! On top of all that, just by entering the contest you will get a hefty little Honey bonus.
